Semarang | December 20, 2022 - The city of Semarang succeeded in becoming the overall champion in the city category in the Regional Competitiveness Mapping Award (PDSD) at the Central Java level.
The award was received directly by the Acting Mayor of Semarang, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, at the Gradhika Bhakti Praja Semarang Building on Monday 19 December 2022.
Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, who is often referred to as Mbak Ita, said that the award was a bonus because it was appropriate for the Semarang City Government to carry out innovations in terms of regional competitiveness.
Ms. Ita emphasized that this award was an additional motivation for her staff to provide even better service in 2023. She also reminded that there were many uncertainties in 2023 that required the Semarang City Government to always be ready and swift in adapting in carrying out development.
According to the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, the level of competitiveness is one of the criteria for determining the success and achievement of a better goal by a country or region in increasing productivity, economic growth, and people's welfare.
The PDSD value of Semarang City in 2021 is 3.87692, and will increase to 3.93659 in 2022. The acquisition of this number shows that Semarang City has Very High Competitiveness.
Of the 12 pillars that are the criteria for PDSD, Semarang managed to achieve a high competitiveness rating on 8 pillars, namely Business Dynamics, Innovation Capacity, Technology Readiness, Institutional, Health, Product Market Efficiency, Employment, and Market Size.
