Semarang | 4 October 2022 - The Central Java Provincial Government invites various parties who are concerned about e-sports to combine e-sports with local culture, one of which is through the creation of game content.
E-sports is a smart sport, meaning that it is a sport of the future which has speed, agility, and integrated strategy in information technology facilities. The development of e-sports enthusiasts is in line with the increasing use of gadgets and social media.
E-sports has become a trend among young people to channel their talents and skills. The rise of e-sports among millennials is one of the strategies that the Central Java Provincial Government can take to introduce the history and cultural values of the archipelago.
Ganjar Pranowo, The Governor of Central Java, through the Head of the Communication and Information Office, Riena Retnaningrum, encouraged game founders and developers to synergize with the government and cultural practitioners to turn local culture into interesting game content.
Ganjar also stated that this idea is a brilliant opportunity in improving the nation's economy, also as a media to preserve the cultural values of the archipelago amid the onslaught of digital media which continues to show its sophistication.
