Semarang | October 3rd, 2022 – Semarang City Government in collaboration with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection or KPPPA and several stakeholders held Batik Specta Nusantara event to celebrate National Batik Day which falls on October 2nd.
In that big fashion event, the theme was #1000 styles of batik specta. Later, the event will feature a parade of thousands of types of batik with their styles and charms, including 1,000 models from the Minister, the highest leadership of the ministry, regional heads or female deputy regional heads, women DPR RI, srikandi BUMN, celebgram, fashion communities, students and batik goweser from various areas.
This event was held for nine days from October 1st and will end on October 9th 2022 at 10.00 to 21.00 WIB located along the streets of Kota Lama Semarang area.
Not only fashion show, the event was also enlivened with various other activities, including Pit-Pitan Batikan, Dolanan Bareng, Batik Workshop, Tiban Batik Market, Ancient Batik Exhibition, Fashion and Craft Exhibition, and Appreciation for “Tempo Dulu” Batik Craftsmen.
The celebration of the Batik Specta event is expected to further increase people's interest for batik as a Humanitarian Heritage for Non-material Oral Culture that has been recognized by UNESCO since October 2nd, 2009.
In addition, this activity is also expected to support batik craftsmen and entrepreneurs that they can bounce back in the post-pandemic era. Then, many parties will be able to feel the benefits, including Designers, Batik Craftsmen, Tailors, Employees, Students, and other creative market players, with the theme “Bersama, Berdaya, Bergaya dengan Batik Indonesia”.
