Semarang | 8 September 2022-the Semarang City Government (Pemkot) created 10 new thematic villages in 2022. This is done as an effort to empower the people of Semarang and to improve the economy of the community.
Head of Planning, Development, Research, and Regional Development (Bappeda) Semarang, Budi Prakosa explained that the creation of this new thematic village, carried out bottom up from the community, then verified by the team related to the potential raised.
From the available data, these 10 thematic villages are three in Tembalang district, namely Kampung Haskar, Kampung Turonggo Seto, Kampung Kedung Tungkul. Then there is one in mijen district and one in Ngaliyan namely Kampung Budaya Dawung, Kampung Sikandak Kuliner.
Four other thematic villages exist in North Semarang district, namely Kampung Edupark Mangrove, Kampung Tanaman Hias, Kampung Las Kenteng, and Kampung Hijau peduli. Finally, one thematic village in Gunungpati, namely Kampung Jahe Merah (Kajera).
While 10 new thematic villages this year, have been previously set in 2024. In total there are 260 thematic villages owned by the city of Semarang.
