Prof. Nova began his academic career as a permanent lecturer at Udinus, which was then still called STMIK Dian Nuswantoro, on August 1, 1996. Two years later, he earned his first academic position as an Expert Assistant. In 2001, he completed his Master of Computer Studies at STTBI Ben Arif Jakarta.
Over time, his career path continued to rise. He achieved the position of Lecturer in 2005, then Head Lecturer in 2011. Not stopping there, he continued his doctoral studies at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and graduated Cumlaude in 2021. In 2023, he also completed his Engineering Profession at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, earning the title of Best Graduate.
In the same year, Prof. Nova obtained a certificate of competence as a Principal Professional Engineer (IPU), and qualified as an Asean Engineer from the AFEO Governing Board in 2023.
