The Faculty of Health of Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) developed the e-Leprosy framework, a web-based system to support leprosy control. The study, which was conducted at 27 health centers in Pekalongan Regency, increased patient discipline by 13.9% through an SMS-based reminder feature. The system facilitates monitoring of patient treatment by health workers and patients' families.

The research process involved four stages: preparation, initial assessment, intervention, and evaluation, with active participation from leprosy surveillance officers and patients. Obstacles such as low digital literacy in rural areas were overcome through intensive training, which helped officers adopt the technology. The e-Leprosy system also assists patients in undergoing Multi-Drug Therapy (MDT) with greater discipline.

This research involved Udinus researchers, which are Prof. Dr. Ir. Edi Noersasongko, M.Kom., Dr. Guruh Fajar Shidik, S.Kom., M.Cs., Prof. Dr. Drs. Jumanto, M.Pd., and Chief Researcher Enny Rachmani, S.K.M., M.Kom., Ph.D. Foreign researchers came from Taipei Medical University (Ming-Chin Lin and Usman Iqbal) and National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Science (Chien Yeh Hsu).

This achievement is expected to become a model of technological innovation for public health in Indonesia, especially in areas with limited infrastructure.
