Udinus Hospitality Management student wins Coffee Mixology Competition, creates coffee with Nastar cookies

Salma Julinda Rizma, a student of the Applied Bachelor Program in Hospitality Management at Udinus, secured third place in the Coffee Mixology Competition. The event, held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Yogyakarta, was organized by Royal Malioboro by Aston and Premium Syrup and featured 25 participants.

Salma created an innovative drink called Nastar Coffee, inspired by nastar cookies. The drink combines the sweetness of vanilla, the aroma of pineapple and spices, and the creamy texture of whipped cream, with a touch of aromatic cinnamon. The creation impressed the judges for its balance of flavors and unique concept.

Salma admitted that she was nervous when performing certain techniques in front of the judges, but she remained confident until she finished the compounding process. This victory is a source of pride for the campus, as stated by the Head of Udinus Hospitality Management Program, Dr. Neni Kurniawati. She hopes that this achievement can motivate other students to continue working and competing.
