English Bachelor’s Program students from Universitas Dian Nuswantoro (Udinus) organized a campaign as part of their Public Relations (PR) course output. Eight students, grouped under the 'Occasus Team,' promoted Tirang Beach, one of Semarang's tourist destinations, during the Car Free Day (CFD) event on Jalan Pahlawan, Sunday (December 8, 2024).
The team leader, Fransiscus Joseph Izhak Da Costa, explained that Tirang Beach was chosen for its beauty, which is less well-known compared to other beaches in Semarang. With its white sand, gazebos, and food stalls, this beach is considered deserving of greater attention.
During the campaign, the team used brochures based on their observations, as well as organized games, prize giveaways, and encouraged participants to follow Tirang Beach's social media accounts. The CFD location was chosen for its strategic value, targeting audiences from all age groups, especially young people.
The lecturer of the PR course, Heni Indrayani, M.I.Kom., stated that this activity aims to improve students' soft skills in the world of public relations. Based on student reports, the community gave a positive response to the campaign, signifying that the activity was a success.
