The KIM trio consisting of Arsy Widianto, Rachel Rae, and Gusty Pratama are back with their 3rd release in the form of a single titled "Magnet". The single was released under the Universal Music Indonesia record label.
Interestingly, in this single, KIM collaborated with one of the best female singers in the country's music industry, Marion Jola. This is KIM's first collaborative single since starting their journey as a vocal group.
The song “Magnet” was created by Arsy Widianto who offers upbeat pop with groovy rhythmic tones together with his father, Indonesian music maestro, Yovie Widianto.
This song is talking about a situation where a romantic relationship between two people is supposed to be a ‘secret’. The reason is because both of them are already committed to someone else, but both of them can't deny that they have romantic feelings for each other.
The musical arrangement is super catchy, very groovy, and very danceable. Interestingly, there's a trumpet part that makes the atmosphere even more fun. If you don't want to ask about the quality of the vocals, they're all top-notch. The distribution of vocal fills is also very fitting, no one is dominant, but complements each other. Genius!
Interestingly, in this single for the first time KIM presents a rap verse. They sing it by themselves. It doesn't seem excessive, but it makes it more colorful. Cool!
Not only that, the music video also showcases a sense of playfulness. Taking the background of a restaurant, the music video directed by Jessy Silviani and Bobby Adrian V presents a story that reinforces the lyrics. However, it is still made fun, with all the joy displayed.
Through ‘Magnet’, KIM trio hopes that their song can be enjoyed by many people, and can be a fun soundtrack when starting the day.
